We often think highly of ourselves that we reject the idea of doing unpleasant tasks while we look for ways how others can serve us. But Jesus was different. The washing of the feet of his disciples displays his humility and his servanthood. His example is to be emulated by those who belong to the body of Christ by serving others in humility and love. This is called servant leadership, a selfless act of service, seeking the best interest of others without imposing any conditions. “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:45)
Are we willing to get dirty like Jesus?
